Lane Amateur Hockey Association will be hosting an 8-week summer session of 3-on-3 Hockey beginning Monday, August 9th running through Wednesday, September 29th, 2010. The session will include two weekly close-quarter games.

There will be four teams consisting of a maximum of nine players including two goalies. Each group will also have at minimum one LAHA coach to act as a supervisor/coach. These coaches are USA Hockey registered coaches.

Birth years of ’99 and below will play on 1/3 of a cross-ice sheet, while birth years of ’98 and above will play on 1/3 of a cross-ice sheet. The remaining 1/3 of ice will be used for LAHA’s Intro to Hockey program. Games will be played two days a week, Monday and Wednesday, between 6 pm and 7 pm. The cost for 16 sessions of 3-on-3 for all ages will be $160 per player. This cost includes a jersey to keep. These jerseys must be worn during 3-on-3 to allow greater ease of play and team separation.

How to sign up:

The number of players is limited and will fill quickly. Reservations are made on a first come – first serve basis, and forms must be returned by July 23rd, 2010. To be placed in 3-on-3 you must complete the registration form in full and submit with payment to LAHA along with a copy of player’s USA Hockey membership. This membership can also be used for the upcoming 2010-2011 LAHA or any other USA Hockey affiliate’s season.

Lane Amateur Hockey Association 3-on-3 Rules

  1. Players - All players participating in 3-on-3 must have submitted a registration form and be USA Hockey registered.
  2. Slapshots – There will be no slapshots allowed during 3-on-3.
  3. Checking – There will be no checking allowed in any group/division.
  4. Penalties – All penalties will result in a penalty shot. For cross-ice: play will resume immediately after the penalty shot with no stoppage of play. Teams always remain at full strength. Players drawing excessive penalties may be ejected from the game.
  5. Offsides – There will be no offsides during 3-on-3.
  6. Goals and Saves – If a team shoots the puck on net and it scores or is covered by the goalie, that team must back up a reasonable distance to allow the other team to play the puck out of the net.
  7. Icing – There will be no icing called. Excessive icing may result in a delay of play.
  8. No Fighting – Fighting will not be tolerated. First offense will result in player(s) being removed for the remainder of the game. A second offense will result in player(s) out of the summer session.
